If you filed your taxes with H&R Block this year, it could be awhile before you get your return.
The nation’s largest tax preparer says they made a mistake related to form 88-63 for the educational tax credit. H&R Block says the filing problem impacts some 600,000 customers who filed between February 14th and February 22nd.
The IRS is still processing affected returns, but say those returns will be delayed because of the process necessary to correct the errors.
The delay is creating concern among college students applying for financial aid, which requires tax information.
So far H&R Block has not said whether it plans to offer rebates or other compensation to those filers impacted.
